DEPARTMENT: Sales

REPORTS TO: General Manager

Summary: This position requires high level product knowledge and experience selling in a high-end retail environment.  You are attentive to details, goal oriented, capable of multi-tasking, and are dedicated to completing assignments and projects. 

Responsibilities:

  • You will complete any required training programs which involves in-store training as well as at-home internet-based training.
  • You will interact with customers and provide exemplary customer service; educate customers about bicycles, bicycle accessories and clothing, and any other cycling-related products offered by Metro Bicycle Stores. 
  • You will learn to and perform bicycle fittings for all makes and models. 
  • You will assist in the daily operations of the store, including restocking, cleaning, organizing and merchandising. 
  • You will be open to learning from your coworkers and sharing that knowledge regarding new products and events with customers and new coworkers. 
  • You will perform other tasks assigned by your store manager.
  • You will learn to manage and lead your staff to create a customer base through communication, fairness and integrity and by providing great customer service.    
  • You will learn responsibility; for the sales energy and productivity of the store.
  • You will learn, understand and adhere to Company policy, programs and standards.
  • You will work with the General Manager in additional areas of responsibility, which may include: Hiring and/or training of new sales staff.                
  • Manage inventory processes, including receiving, ordering, and physical inventory preparation.
  • Organize and merchandise product cleanly and creatively.
  • Maintain accurate financial and sales reports.
  • You will help the General Manager to educate staff regarding Company policy, programs and standards.
  • You will help your manager to schedule and monitor productivity and performance of your staff
  • You will demonstrate a commitment to your customers, your staff, your peers, your supervisors and to the Original Bike Shop.


NOW HIRING Part-Time: Weekdays/Weekends
 
-> Level 1 – Sales

This is an entry level sales position.  Prior retail experience is not necessary, however, experience working in a fast paced environment with a customer service component will prove very useful in this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Successfully complete orientation and training period
  • Share product knowledge and enthusiasm for bikes with customers
  • Direct customers through entire sales process
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers 
  • Complete a multitude of daily housekeeping and office tasks

NOW HIRING Part-Time: Weekdays/Weekends
  
-> Level 2 - Sales 

This position requires intermediate product knowledge and one year of bicycle retail sales experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Successfully complete orientation and training period
  • Maintain intermediate product knowledge
  • Guide and instruct L1 Sales staff
  • Share product knowledge and enthusiasm for bikes with customers
  • Direct customers through entire sales process
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers 
  • Complete a multitude of daily housekeeping and office tasks

NOW HIRING Part-Time/Full-time: Weekdays/Weekends 
  
-> Level 3 - Sales  

This position required a high level of product knowledge and three to four years of bicycle retail sales experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Successfully complete orientation and training period
  • Maintain high level of product knowledge
  • Guide and instruct L1 - L2 Sales staff
  • Share product knowledge and enthusiasm for bikes with customers
  • Direct customers through entire sales process
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers 
  • Complete a multitude of daily housekeeping and office tasks

NOT CURRENTLY HIRING

-> Level 1 Mechanic

This position is ideal for a mechanic with some industry experience and a basic understanding of accessory installation and quality control procedures.  Strong mechanical aptitude and an eagerness to learn are required.  After completion of training, must be able to consistently perform within the Original Bike Shop's quality control guidelines.


 Responsibilities:

  • Bike builds on bikes valued up to $3000 retail value
  • Accessory Installation
  • Flat fix (not tubular or tubeless)
  • Basic adjustments (brakes, gears, bearings, wheel true)
  • Attend ongoing training sessions to advance to L2 Mechanic

NOW HIRING Part-Time: Weekdays/Weekends 

-> Level 2 Mechanic

This position requires a mechanic with multiple years experience or completion of Barnett’s or UBI courses and demonstrated competency in the tasks listed below.  

Responsibilities:

  • Bike Builds ranging up to $6000 retail value
  • Accessory Installation
  • Flat fix (including tubular or tubeless)
  • Performing advanced Tune-Ups
  • Chain Sizing/installing
  • Spoke Install
  • Wrap handlebars (upon certification)
  • Install Components
  • Custom bike builds (frame up)
  • Provide Platinum Customer support
  • Hydraulic brake bleeds
  • Attend ongoing training sessions to advance to L3 Mechanic

NOT CURRENTLY HIRING

-> Level 3 Mechanic

This position requires a mechanic with 5+ years experience and completion of Barnett’s, UBI, or equivalent courses.

Responsibilities:

  • Bike builds up to $30,000 retail value
  • Perform advanced Tune-Ups and Overhauls
  • Pro wheel builds
  • Hydraulic brake bleeds
  • Hydraulic brake rebuilds
  • Bearing overhauls
  • Internal hub service
  • Frame facing and chasing
  • Frame alignment
  • Custom bike builds (frame up)
  • Provide Platinum Customer support
  • Conduct training sessions
